The winner must demonstrate significant development of its business abroad, whether through direct exports, international investments, or the acquisition and establishment of distribution centers or production units in foreign markets. This award also highlights the company’s efforts to deploy resources and development strategies to showcase its expertise and products beyond the West Island region of Montreal, thus strengthening its presence in global markets.

Manufacturing

This recognition award will be presented to a company that stands out for the excellence and exceptional quality of its achievements in the field of resource processing, product manufacturing, or material production. The winner must demonstrate remarkable expertise in optimizing its production processes, whether through innovation in manufacturing methods, the use of advanced technologies, or the exceptional quality of the products made. This award also recognizes innovative and original methods used to ensure an optimal customer experience, thereby ensuring consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Companies from various sectors, such as vehicle sales, freight transport, or delivery services, that have successfully integrated modern, digital, or sustainable logistics solutions into their model, will be especially highlighted.

The winner must demonstrate substantial efforts to minimize its ecological footprint, whether through reducing CO2 emissions, optimizing resource use, innovating with materials, or managing waste. Innovation and Technology

This recognition award will be presented to a company that stands out for an innovation resulting from efficiency and effectiveness in the creation of new products, processes, or technologies. This innovation must include stages such as design, technical development, and continuous updates of products or processes. The product, process, or technology must have been commercialized and available on the market for at least six months, demonstrating its viability, market acceptance, and tangible impact. Human Resources Management and Governance Initiatives

The winner must have demonstrated a unique ability to generate financial resources, whether through creative funding models, strategic partnerships, or new initiatives, while making a tangible and measurable contribution to improving the social and economic well-being of the region. This award highlights the organization’s commitment to sustainability, solidarity, and social inclusion, as well as its essential role in strengthening the community fabric.

Urban Development and Construction Developer

This award will recognize a company that has played a key role in the economic development of a community by actively contributing to job creation and economic growth in the area. The company must have led a sustainable and innovative development project, participating in the establishment and development of buildings and essential infrastructure to revitalize a region of the West Island of Montreal. The company will also be responsible for promoting citizen participation and creating conditions that encourage the engagement of various economic partners. To be eligible, the company must demonstrate the components of its project, the activities implemented to maintain a high-performing and innovative ecosystem conducive to business development, as well as the different sources of financing mobilized to support the project.

SME of the Year (Fewer than 20 Employees)

This recognition award will be presented to a small business with 20 employees or fewer, or to a self-employed individual, that has made significant progress over the past year. This progress may be related to the successful development of a particular project, a notable improvement in the quality of services and/or products offered, or the optimization of the management and efficiency of the company’s operations and activities. The winner must have been established in the area for at least 2 years, demonstrating their ability to grow and sustain involvement in the region. This award highlights the agility, innovation, and resilience of small businesses or self-employed individuals, as well as their ability to stand out through a strategic, creative, and performance-driven approach.

Large Business of the Year (More than 21 Employees)

This recognition award will be presented to a company with 21 employees or more that stands out for the excellence of its services and/or products, the effective management of its operations and activities, as well as its influence and presence within the West Island business community of Montreal. The company must also demonstrate exemplary management practices and a strategic approach in the development and management of its human resources. The winner must have been established in the region for at least 5 years, demonstrating its stability and long-term commitment to the area. This award aims to honor the company that embodies the values of leadership, innovation, sustainable performance, and social responsibility, while having a positive and measurable impact on its economic and social environment.
