Amazon Canada moves to Lachine and creates more than 300 jobs
Pointe-Claire, November 11, 2019- Last Friday, Amazon, an e-commerce company mentioned the imminent opening of its new distribution center. It is in the borough of Lachine in Montreal that the e-commerce giant has chosen to settle. This expansion will create more than 300 full-time jobs, which will be very beneficial for the region.
An expected arrival
Expecting an opening before the holiday season of 2020, the Amazon Canada team anticipates that it will need new employees to fill various packaging, distribution and order preparation positions for Quebec customers. This new center will certainly improve the service offered to Quebecers who consume at Amazon. The rise of e-commerce is not only useful for many consumers, it also creates a panoply of jobs and helps the economic development of the regions. Mayor Maja Vodanovic says she hopes for future collaborations with Amazon. With the installation of the company in Lachine, it will be easier to work together and ensure a perpetuity of the borough’s values in the habits of Amazon.
