PRESS RELEASE- The West Island Chamber of Commerce Announces the Appointment of Sophia Lavergne as Acting General Manager (in the interim)

Pointe-Claire, July 9, 2024

Joining the organization on June 13, Sophia Lavergne has been appointed as Acting General Manager of the West Island Chamber of Commerce (CCOIM) to lead and implement the organization’s next strategic plan. With diverse leadership experience in both commercial and residential real estate, she brings over 20 years of expertise in real estate and holds an RPA designation recognized by BOMI International. Sophia has also played a pivotal role in the business community of the Thérèse-de-Blainville MRC for several years and served as President of the Board of Directors of the CCITB from 2019 to 2021, marking history as the first woman to hold this position in 35 years.

Recognized for her integrity and enthusiasm, Sophia is valued for her inspirational leadership and commitment to everything she undertakes. Her involvement on various boards of directors with foundations will bring a rich and varied contribution to CCOIM. “I am delighted to join the business community of the West Island of Montreal and bring forth a range of innovative ideas to represent and defend its main interests and issues,” said Sophia Lavergne.
